This rod has tackled Steelhead, Small Salmon, big and little trout and everything between. In easily mends big double nymph rigs from a distance, handles heavy streamers and really big dry flies. The fighting butt comes in handy on the bigger species and is essential when loine is getting spooled out on a run. The medium fast action allows for a good caster (not me) to handle a lot of line with precise accuracy.
