Rod does have some signs of wear. Also, please not that the top segment is not the same as the bottom. Both segments are the same length but top segment sits further down on base in order to connect firmly. It is a lamiglas tip. Base is maroon color, top segment is a dark grayish black. In low light it is very hard to tell the difference. In direct light it is more noticeable.
