i am selling my Cabela's MTX fly rod, I have never fished this rod however I have caught fish on the 8 weight version of this rod and they are fantastic rods. it was rumored that Cabela's outsourced the blanks for this rod to G Loomis and I believe that could be true, but no real proof just internet forums. This rod has a 3M power lux resin and the times I hooked a fish on the 8 weight are memorable because a low priced fly rod had so much feel and sensitivity. I would cast this rod in my yard and I would cast it almost to the backing. This is a great rod and you can not go wrong for the money, considering name brand rod builder's rod of this quality go for 3 to 4 times more money. Weather you are new to fly fishing or just starting out you will love this flyrod!
