removed fly rod handle, installed spinning rod handle. used heavy duty Gorilla duct tape for spacers on handle. gorilla glue between tape and all parts of handle. I have used this method for years. It works. Made a hook holder from fish hook. The rod is in like new condition. Advantage of 8 ft rod, when you flip your wrist to cast the tip travels about 5 feet, this will cast 1/32 oz jigs a lot farther than a 6 or 7 ft rod. use 2 to 12 # mono line. The fly rod guides have no affect on performance. Will be shipped in the case and in a 3 inch tube. The shimano 2000 reel is new and will be shipped seperate from the rod. the reel package will also contain a fishing kit with about 3 dozen spinners and flies I tied. Along with some weights. Also 3 cork spin a fly floats.
